I've loved Ramen since seeing the movie Tampopo. An entire movie based on a noodle dish? And the first 10 minutes on how to correctly eat the noodle? Pay it respect they teach, and over the years I've learned to. How many things in life have you heard about, and then the actual thing is better than what you heard? It's the earth in a bowl. Perfection.

Trying the spicy garlic. Kintaro is the first ramen place I visited when I moved to Vancouver. The constant line ups drew me in, the quality fatty ramen made me stay. Was a staple until Santoka came.

Kintaro review. The pork was a surprise. They have definitely upped their game since Santoka hit the scene. Fantastic broth, good firm noodles, great pork with generous portions.

Santouka Ramen. This is the current grandmaster of Ramen in Vancouver. Incredible noodles, just the right temperature broth, stunning meat.
